WINTER STORM WARNING

I'll Leave It Alone

For now, I'll leave my expectations at:

4-8 south of the city
8-12 from DC northward to Baltimore
12+ north of Baltimore

But based on what I've been seeing for the last hour or so, even that might be too high.  Things could change, in either direction, once the storm actually forms.  But for now, this looks like a big hit for our friends in New England - particularly north of New York City and into the Boston area.

We'll see how things evolve.  I've left the official wording of the National Weather Service warning above.  They are still calling for 12-16 inches in the DC area.  I'll let you know if that changes.

  1. It's 4:30, and the snow has stated to come down here in N. Arlington. Bob Ryan says it's going to become a mix before changing back into all snow later tonight, with high winds during the day tomorrow, bringing a high risk of power outages to the entire area. Doesn't sound like much fun but we have friends (B&A) spending the night here, so she can get to work at the nearby hospital tomorrow morning. That does sound like fun!

  2. Snow started here at 5:13. The measuring stick remains in place. The present level is 13 inches of old snow! We'll see what happens!
